Have you ever had a client arrive to her photo shoot and lament that she hates her arms, belly, thighs or size? Do you know how to help her look her best? My new Curvy Posing Guide will help you do just that.
I’ve been a photographer for 22 years and I wanted to help photographers learn from my experience and take the short-cut to success.
Now although it’s called the Curvy Posing Guide, I’ll let you in on a little secret, this guide is not only for curvy clients. After all, nearly all women want to look slimmer in photos.
In an ideal world every woman would be brimming with self-acceptance and love every inch of their body just as it is. However this is the real world, where all clients have insecurities, just like you do. What matters is that you minimise their perceived flaws, so that you are not adding to their insecurities.
For example, I am aware that I have cellulite and a mummy tummy, however I don’t want to spend thousands of dollars on a boudoir photographer to then be shown these parts of myself. I also don’t want to be Photoshopped beyond recognition and would rather the photographer get it right in-camera. And newsflash, your clients do too! Your clients want to see the best possible version of themselves through your lens. Can you show it to them?
Of course never mention any flaws to the client, or what is being done to minimise them, as this will just make the client self-conscious. The most important job you have is to preserve your client’s self-esteem. As professional photographers we must pose our clients to show them at their best and ensure they leave our photo studio with even more self-confidence than when they entered.
The Curvy Posing Guide will help you do just that.
